Ski trip to Ruidoso

It's been months since we went to Ruidoso for a mini vacation with our friends Sara, Kenny, Heath and Shaunna but we had a such a wonderful and relaxing time that I couldn't not post any pictures! We went the first weekend of March and our road trip began on Thursday afternoon. We rented a BIG 12 passenger van and called it the Mystery Machine...like from Scooby Doo because that's what it reminded us of! Our ten hour drive wasn't bad at all! Shaunna taught us how to knit (I was not a star student because it took me several hours to "get it") and Vickie (Heath's portable GPS) lead the way for us without fail. Our cabin was the cutest log cabin and exactly what I envisioned for a ski weekend. The best part was the hot tub outside that provided much needed relaxation after our days of skiing along with Sara's hot buttered rum drinks...YUM!

What more could you ask for on a vacation than good friends, good times, and good memories!

911 Fashion Police

One Saturday this is what I came home to after working a wedding and Cameron had been in charge of dressing Sheridan for the day! :\ Let me explain her ensemble: the shirt was a child's size XS shirt that Cameron had bought me years ago as a joke when he went on a guy's trip to San Diego. The shorts are part of a pair of 4th of July pajamas. Bless his heart for trying but I'm not really sure what Cameron's thought process was when he was dressing her! I'm just thankful they didn't leave the house that day and I've learned that I need to set out her outfits now before I leave!

Splish Splash

Sheridan loves taking a bath as much as I did when I was a kid! Therefore, I'm a huge sucker for bath tub toys and she has a ton of them! The only problem is that she doesn't realize that baths also serve a purpose....to get clean! She throws a mini fit whenever I try to clean her face...and if you've seen her eat, then you know this is not optional...it must be done! I also have to work around her playing, grabbing every toy and splashing to clean the rest of her because she will not take time out for that. But she loves her baths and could spend hours in the tub!

Typical Saturday morning

Nothing beats a lazy Saturday morning! We love to lay around in our pajamas and watch cartoons with Sheridan, eat a big breakfast and drink coffee (or juice if you're one). This is about the only time Sheridan likes to cuddle now that she's walking around and has places to go and people to see!

These are just some random pictures I thought were cute.....

Danielle's baby shower

My cousin, Danielle, is due with a little boy on March 2nd. Well, technically or should I say genetically, she's not really my cousin. Here's the deal...our families lived across the street from each other forever and we feel and love each other like family because we've grown up together and been through so much together. The shower was at Danielle's Aunt Eileen's house and it was a wonderful afternoon! Danielle got a lot of great stuff including a pack n' play, bedding, bouncy seat, clothes and many, many more baby necessities!

Jimo and his girls
Jimo is always the life of the party but wait, I thought baby showers were for girls! Good thing he left and went to Main Event! ;)

I'm a BIG girl now!

The day we've all been waiting for....we got to turn Sheridan's car seat around so she could face forward on January 13th! She loves the new view of the world and is mesmerized by big trucks and stop lights. I love that I can look in the little mirror that's attached to my rear view mirror and see if she's eating her shoe or spilling milk all over the car! ;) I'm sure one picture would have been plenty but....this is me were talking to so...here are four!

Dinner with GG and Grandad

One Sunday afternoon back in late January we met Cameron's parents in Temple for dinner when they were on their way home to College Station from the ranch in Lampasas. We ate at Texas Roadhouse where I fell off the "low carb" wagon to enjoy their awesome rolls with cinnamon butter! (Side note: I have yet to get back on the wagon..so much for that New Year's resolution!) Anyway, these are some of my favorite pictures because they are so precious!

Babysitting Natalie

My friend, Sara, had a great idea for us to trade babysitting services so we could each enjoy uninterrupted evenings with our husbands while knowing our girls were in good hands. Neither one of us is ready to get a babysitter and the girls get along so well so it makes things very easy. Sara and Kenny brought Natalie over to our house while they went out to dinner and a movie. The girls had a great time playing and watching tv. Cameron and I had a lot of fun with Natalie and really got a good idea of what things were going to be like when Sheridan is a full fledged toddler!

Julian's 1st birthday

My dear friend from high school, who's name also happens to be Julie, son was born about a month after Sheridan. They had his birthday party at their house complete with great food and cake and a bouncing house. The kids had a great time and Sheridan loved playing with some new friends.

Ice Storm 2007

So you know it's been a long time since I've posted if I'm just now getting to the ice storm we had back in January! :\ The first day of the ice storm was fun....staying home with Sheridan, drinking hot chocolate, eating homemade soups and having a fire every night. By the fourth day I was running out of ideas on how to entertain Sheridan!

The cold weather made Harley and Brodie very fiesty!

Since it never gets this cold in Texas, I didn't have any gloves for Sheridan....so we used socks!
